Description: The Young Authors Writing Competition, organized by Columbia College Chicago's English and Creative Writing Department, invites high school students worldwide to submit original works in fiction, creative nonfiction, or poetry. Participants can submit up to two entries per category, with poetry submissions allowing 1–5 poems per entry. Each submission must not exceed ten pages. The competition emphasizes originality, technical skill, and the writer's unique voice.
Dates: Submissions typically open in November and close in January; for the 2024–2025 cycle, submissions are expected to open in November 2024 and close in January 2025.
