Description: JCamp is a six-day multicultural journalism program for high school students, hosted by the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). The program brings together diverse students from across the U.S. to receive hands-on training from veteran journalists and media executives. Participants engage in interactive workshops, field reporting, and produce multimedia news packages.
Dates: July 26 – August 1, 2025
Grade Levels: Grades 10–11 (current sophomores and juniors)
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Location Requirements: U.S. residents; international students may apply if they can travel domestically
Additional Info: JCamp covers all costs, including airfare, lodging, and meals. The application requires essays, short answers, a 60–90 second introduction video, and a letter of recommendation. The program coincides with AAJA’s national convention, offering students unparalleled networking opportunities with industry professionals.
