Winchester Poetry Prize 2025

Cost: Paid (No Financial Aid Available) – £6 for the first poem; £5 for each additional poem

Description: The Winchester Poetry Prize is an international competition open to poets aged 16 and above. Entrants may submit original, unpublished poems in English, up to 40 lines in length, on any subject and in any form or style. The competition is judged anonymously, with all longlisted poems published in a printed anthology. Winners are announced at a live ceremony during the Winchester Poetry Festival.

Additional Info: First prize: £1,000; second prize: £500; third prize: £250. The Kathryn Bevis Prize awards £150 and a year of tuition from The Writing School to the best poem by a Hampshire-based poet.
