Description: The National High School Ethics Bowl is a team-based competition where students collaboratively analyze and discuss complex ethical dilemmas. Unlike traditional debate formats, NHSEB emphasizes respectful dialogue and critical thinking over adversarial argumentation. Teams are evaluated on the clarity, depth, and thoughtfulness of their ethical reasoning, as well as their ability to engage constructively with opposing viewpoints.


Dates:

  • Team Registration Opens: September 2024

  • Regional Competitions: September 6, 2024 – February 2, 2025

  • Divisional Playoffs: February 2025

  • National Championship: April 11–13, 2025 

Grade Levels: Grades 9–12

Skill Level: Intermediate

Location Requirements: USA only


Additional Info: Teams consist of 3–7 students, with up to 5 participating in any given match. Each team must have a coach or advisor approved by their school administration.
