Description: The National Academic League (NAL) is a team-based academic competition for middle and high school students, combining elements of quiz bowl, debate, and problem-solving. Teams of 15–40 students compete in four quarters: Roundabout, Teamwork, Problem Solving, and One-on-One, covering subjects like English, history, and language arts.
Dates: Season runs from October to February; national tournament held in March or April
Grade Levels: Grades 6–12
Skill Level: Intermediate
Location Requirements: USA only
Additional Info: Teams advance through local and regional competitions to qualify for the national tournament.
