Cost: Paid ($20 individual / $40 group); no financial aid available
Description: The GRC Social Impact Essay Competition invites high school students and recent graduates worldwide to propose solutions to pressing global issues. Participants choose from topics like technology for good, global health, climate change, public sector innovation, human rights, and education equity. Submissions are evaluated for originality and practical impact, with top entries receiving mentorship and publication opportunities.
Dates: Submissions open September 1, 2024, and close December 15, 2024. Results will be announced in January 2025, with winning essays published in February 2025.
Grade Levels: High school students and high school graduates not yet enrolled in college

Additional Info: Essays should be 500–1,000 words, with up to two charts or infographics allowed. Submissions can be individual or in teams of up to three. Top 5 winners receive internships with GRC university branches; ranks 6–10 receive Ivy League mentorship; top 30 essays are published by GRC; and ranks 31–50 receive finalist certificates.
