Description: The Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest is an international arts and writing competition for students aged 11–18. Participants respond to the 2025 theme “Connections to Nature: Looking Inside, Going Outside” through creative media such as visual art, poetry, prose, film, performance, or multimedia that reflect their personal relationship with the natural world. Winning entries earn cash awards and may receive special honors from the Smithsonian and other partner organizations. Dates:

• Submission deadline: June 9, 2025

• Winners announced: Late November 2025
