Description: The Annenberg Youth Academy (AYA) is a three-week summer intensive program hosted by the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Designed for 26 high school students from Los Angeles County, AYA offers college-level coursework in communication, journalism, and media studies. Participants engage in writing, public speaking, multimedia production, and critical thinking exercises, aiming to cultivate civic-minded thought leaders and innovators.
Dates: June 16 – July 3, 2025
Grade Levels: Current 9th–11th graders (rising 10th–12th graders)
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Location Requirements: Must reside and attend high school in Los Angeles County
Additional Info: AYA includes daily classes, guest lectures from media professionals, college advising, and field trips. Students receive free breakfast and lunch, and transportation scholarships are available upon request.
